Brian's 27-element QLY (must look that up!) at about 5m agl.

LRS member Brian Howie GM4DIJ had a try at the UK Microwave 23cm Contest on Sunday 8th March 2020 for a couple of hours. He had meant to be out for the 144/432 contest on the Saturday, but the wx was bad.

The location was IO74mu, about 8km south of Stranraer, about 90m asl with a good take-off North round to South, where he was partly obscured by the Mull of Galloway.

View to North.

View to South East.

Brian's rig was an Icom IC9700 plus an SG Labs 20W PA with built-in preamp.

Plot of Brian's QSOs. Best Dx was G4ODA at 393km.

GM8IEM at 377km in NW Scotland took over 20mins using numerous aircraft reflections.

6 QSOs in total. Only active for the final 3 Hours (6 hour contest). 4 contacts in the last 1/2 hour.

Sitting 6th out of 14 entries in claimed scores.
