Peter Dick, GM4DTH, Newsreader for RSGB GB2RS in the Edinburgh area, reports: My current reserve newsreader is taking a break for an unknown duration. I only require this service now and again, on occasional Sunday mornings at 09:30 – 10:00h. Only the 2m FM band is of importance and I am looking for someone who can provide reasonable coverage throughout the Edinburgh area. Many listeners have limited stations and some just use handhelds. As the FM transmission mode is unsuitable for weak signal use, using higher power than usual does help. Of course the most important aspects are having a good site and a good aerial system. Another requirement is having suitably-rated equipment as it needs to be on Transmit, without a break, for at least half an hour. If anyone is interested I can have a chat and supply more details.
