The Lothians Radio Society held a very successful autumn surplus equipment sale (definitely not “junk” this time) on Wednesday 17th October 2012 at St Fillan’s church hall. There was a lot of equipment for sale including many oscilloscopes and other test equipment from a recent Silent Key operator, and a record attendance of 37 LRS members and visitors.
Some of the items for sale.
Charlie GM6MUZ & Vic GM3OWU examine a choice item.
There were several spanners in the works among Pete GM4BYF’s items.
A chance to discuss the quality of the items.
LRS President Andy MM0FMF started the proceedings with a great rendering of hymn 58.
… while Treasurer Peter GM4DTH played a new table-top coin game!
Brian GM8BJF got things moving by selling several reels of wire and cable.
There was great interest in a large number of oscilloscopes and other test items (untested!) that Brian brought from the estate of a recent Silent Key operator and which were all sold at attractive prices. Jack GM1CQC seemed very impressed!
Bob GM4CMI sold two laptop computers.
Norrie GM1CNH sold a very nice flat-screen monitor.
Colin GM4HWO was busy selling raffle tickets.
Pete GM4BYF sold an 18-element yagi for 70cm.
Pete: ” … and it’s got a lovely tone”.
Dave Pack sold a very solid power supply unit, helped by Colin GM4HWO.
