15 Oct 2025 – Autumn Surplus Sale

The Autumn Surplus Sale was held as usual at St Fillan’s Church in Buckstone with a good turnout of LRS members and guests.

Plenty of interesting items to bid for.

… and plenty of junk too (even if we don’t call it a Junk Sale any more)!

A lot of items were brought by Bill, a member of the Livingston Club, for disposal.

We were welcomed by Pete GM4BYF, a member of St Fillan’s, as Peter GM4DTH explained to John GM4JRT, his successor as LRS Treasurer, the procedures for handling the money bid for the sale items.

LRS President, Andy MM0FMF then explained the bidding procedures. The LRS would take 10% of each bid for club funds.

Pete announced that the LRS had been very generously donated an ICOM IC-R8600 general coverage receiver with superb operational characteristics, from a Silent Key. This would also be offered for sale on the Internet.

Pete GM4BYF with the first of several aerials – an 8-element 2 metre yagi.

A 3-element cubical quad for 2 metres.

… and Grahame GM4UPB had a vertical.

Raffle time – lots of bottles, and not an 807 among them!

The XYL of one of our guests drew the first ticket.

The first winner was Colin GM4HWO, who then drew the next ticket.

Back to the sale – Norman GM1CNH had “bags” of radio magazines.

Bob GM4CMI with a beautiful polished copper box.

Among the many items from Livingston were several electronics training kits  for young enthusiasts.

… and that just left John, with help from Peter, to sort out all the megabucks collected.
