Peter  GM4DTH received SAQ in Sweden on 17.2kHz on Alexanderson Day 2023 using a special antenna and receiver in his garden.

"Yesterday I received the SAQ transmission from Sweden on 17.2 kHz at 13:00BST. There was a high level of summer static which somewhat degraded the strong signal. I used, as before, an active aerial elevated to 20 feet. It was fed DC from a bias tee. The 17.2 Khz signal was mixed with 4 MHz in a converter and the fed to the IC-705. I have some photos and a recording. I have Photoshopped the screen image to remove the 4 MHz component for clarity"

Transcript of text: Peter writes:

It took some time to transcribe as the Morse was corrupted by the strong static so the usual reading words before writing them did not work. I suspect that ‘BEGMT’ should be ‘BEGIN’ but checking the recording confirms the former. Also I would suspect QSD should be QSL although QSD does described the signal received.
